Chile is a country in western South America. It occupies a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The capital and largest city is Santiago.

Cerro San Cristóbal

The Cerro San Cristóbal is an elongated hill in the Bellavista district of Santiago de Chile on the north bank of the Río Mapocho. From the summit you have a good view of the various districts of Santiago and, if the weather is clear, of the Andes chain in the east. At the top there is a church, an amphitheater and a 22 m high statue of the Virgin Mary. Pope John Paul II held a mass there in 1987. The Santiago Zoo is located at the foot of the mountain on the city side.

Parque Metropolitano de Santiago (abbreviated as PMS or Parquemet) is an urban park located in the city of Santiago, capital of Chile. Formed by the San Cristóbal, Chacarillas, Los Gemelos, Cerro la Pirámide, Cerro Polanco and Cerro El Carbón hills, and the Tupahue, Lo Saldés, Pirámide and Bosque Santiago sectors, the park is located between four communes of the city —Huechuraba , Providencia, Recoleta and Vitacura—and it has approximately 737 hectares, which will make it the second largest urban park in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world.

The Capilla de Mármol nature sanctuary is a national monument of Chile, consisting of a set of mineral formations of calcium carbonate. It is located on the west bank of Lake General Carrera, Aysén Region, near Puerto Río Tranquilo and 223 km south of the regional capital, Coyhaique.Over the years, the waters of the lake – the second largest in South America – have eroded the coastal escarpments, creating these formations that include caverns and islets. Some of these formations are also known as Marble Cathedral, Marble Chapels or Marble Caves. In recent years, they have become an important tourist attraction in the Aysén Region.

The Conguillío National Park is located in Chile in Region IX, the Región de la Araucanía. The park is also known as Los Paraguas. In the language of the Mapuche Indians, Conguillio means something like water with pine nuts.

The Costanera Center Torre 2, better known as Gran Torre Santiago (Great Santiago Tower), and previously known as Torre Gran Costanera, is a 62-story tall skyscraper in Santiago, Chile, the second tallest in Latin America (behind Mexico’s T.Op Torre 1). It is the fourth-tallest building in the Southern hemisphere by highest architectural feature (behind New Zealand’s Sky Tower, Australia’s Q1 Tower and Australia 108) and third-tallest by highest occupied floor (after Australia’s Australia 108 and Eureka Tower). It was designed by Chilean architects Alemparte Barreda & Asociados, the Argentine architect César Pelli, and the Canadian company Watt International.

Saltos de Petrohué

The Saltos de Petrohué are waterfalls of the Río Petrohué that flow downstream near Lake Todos los Santos in southern Chile. Many tourists who take the route between Puerto Montt in Chile and Bariloche in Argentina stop here. The waterfall sits over a base of basalt lava that comes from the neighboring Osorno Volcano. During the rainy season this amount increases because the level of the neighboring lake rises by up to 2 meters. The lake’s water is usually clear with a shade of green and blue.

El Yeso is a reservoir located in the Andes, in the Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile. It was formed by the damming of the Yeso River, part of the Maipo river basin. The reservoir has a capacity of 250,000,000 m³[3] and was completed in 1964.El Yeso reservoir, along with the nearby Laguna Negra, is a major source of drinking water for Santiago.Its water has a turquoise hue and is suitable for fishing and windsurfing

Rapa Nui National Park

Rapa Nui National Park (Spanish: Parque nacional Rapa Nui) is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site located on Easter Island, Chile. Rapa Nui is the Polynesian name of Easter Island; its Spanish name is Isla de Pascua. The island is located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern extremity of the Polynesian Triangle. The island was taken over by Chile in 1888. Its fame and World Heritage status arise from the 887 extant stone statues known by the name “moai”, whose creation is attributed to the early Rapa Nui people who inhabited the island starting between 300 and 1200 AD. Much of the island has been declared as Rapa Nui National Park which, on 22 March 1996, UNESCO designated a World Heritage Site under cultural criteria. Rapa Nui National Park is now under the administrative control of the Ma´u Henua Polynesian Indigenous Community, which is the first autonomous institute on the island. The indigenous Rapa Nui people have regained authority over their ancestral lands and are in charge of the management, preservation and protection of their patrimony. On the first of December 2017, the ex-President Michelle Bachelet returned ancestral lands in the form of the Rapa Nui National Park to the indigenous people. For the first time in history, the revenue generated by the National Park is invested in the island and used to conserve the natural heritage.

Originally the area was inhabited by Mapuche communities. Laja Falls

The Laja Falls is located in the Región del Bío-Bío in southern Chile, about 25 km north of Los Ángeles, relatively close to the Ruta 5. Thousands of tourists visit the Laja Falls every year. The individual waterfalls have a height of about 35 meters. Downstream of the falls, the river is calm and very low and can therefore be waded through in many places. In the vicinity of the Laja Falls there are many hotels and inns as well as a private wildlife park due to the high number of tourists.

The park’s most popular feature is the area known as Siete Tazas (Seven Cups), which consists of seven consecutive natural pools with their respective waterfalls along Claro River. These waterfalls range from 1 to 10.5 metres. There are also two high waterfalls called El Velo de Novia (The Bridal Veil) and La Leona (The Lioness), with single vertical drops of 40 and 20 metres respectively. Many kayakers paddle the smaller falls ranging from 1 to 10.5 metres.Once kayakers enter the steep canyon the only way out is down. Many tourists congregate on platforms surrounding the canyon to watch the kayakers as they navigate the waterfalls. At the end of the run kayakers must make a quick move to shore in order to avoid the 40 meter waterfall. This is the end of the canyon where kayakers then hike out.

arque Forestal is an urban park in the city of Santiago, Chile. The park was created on reclaimed land from the Mapocho River and is located in the historical downtown of Santiago, west of Plaza Baquedano and east of Estación Mapocho. It is bordered on the north by Santa María Avenue, on the south by Merced Street and Ismael Valdés Vergara Street. At its eastern end, the park becomes Balmaceda Park, forming an almost unbroken stretch of greenery along the Mapocho River.

The “Eyes of the Caburgua” are small waterfalls produced by outcrops of underground water from Lake Caburgua. Crystalline wells are formed in this area and there are numerous paths to recur each of the attractive water flows that make up them. Likewise, these circuits pass through the native forests of Arrayanes, Ulmos and Güalles.
One of the great attractions of this site is the “Blue Lagoon”, which got its name because of the deep blue color of the waters surrounded by forests.

El Parque Bicentenario is a public park located in the commune of Vitacura in the city of Santiago, Chile, supported by Avenida Bicentenario and el río Mapocho and conforming on 30 hectares: the first stage was inaugurated in 2007 while the second and final was inaugurated in 2011,2​ totaling exactly 314,314 m² of green areas5​ and a built-up area restricted to a maximum of 1%, in accordance with the Plan Regulador Metropolitano de Santiago Integra la red de parques de la ribera. on the Mapocho River, bounded to the north by Cicloparque Mapocho past Monseñor Escrivá de Balaguer Park and al oeste by Titanium Park.

Plaza Baquedano, commonly known as Plaza Italia, is a major landmark in Santiago, Chile.The plaza was inaugurated in 1928, being crowned by a monument made by Chilean sculptor Virgínio Arias and featuring General Manuel Baquedano, giving the current name to the urban landmark. It is located where formerly the Mapocho River used to fork. The oval-shaped plaza is the focal point of celebrations and riots in the city. The area also serves as a hub for Santiago’s street network. Some of the main streets of Santiago intersect in the area, including Providencia Avenue, Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins Avenue (best known as Alameda) and Vicuña Mackenna Avenue.
