Plaza Independencia is a square in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo. The Plaza Independencia forms the central and largest square in Montevideo. It is located at the eastern end of Ciudad Vieja and is on the border with Barrio Centro. Palacio Salvo

The Palacio Salvo is a building in Montevideo, Uruguay and is located at the intersection of Avenida 18 de Julio and Plaza Independencia. With a height of 105 m, the striking building in the Art Deco style was the tallest structure in South America until 1935.
